I May be a little bit obsessed with the Hunterian Museum
A sketch I did from a skull at the Hunterian Museum, London. A man working there had seen me drawing and was kind enough to tell me the story behind it, claiming it to be “the most gruesome object in the room.”
the skull belonged to a young boy, born in India in the 1800s. The midwife was so horrified at his deformities that she instantly threw him onto a fire. He was quickly rescued, with no severe damage. The child went on to spend the next few years of his life being showcased for his parents financial benefit. His head was wrapped in cloth and only revealed to a paying customer. This continued right up until he was tragically bit by a cobra and died age three.

Another Sketch from the Hunterian Museum, London.
This time it is the skeleton of a man suffering from Fibrodysplasia, a very rare disease in which muscle turns into bone when damaged. It is also known as Stone Man Syndrome. Eventually bones fuse together, leaving joints unable to move, frozen in place.
